Last Dance

Tennessee Wall

So as most of you know my wife and I are moving to Japan. So next week we are taking our last trip to Chattanooga from NOLA. I actually am very sad that we are moving away from the amazing southeast sandstone. I learned how to climb on the wonderful cracks at T-Wall. I first saw bouldering at Horse Pens five years ago. I broke into the 11a's at Little River Canyon, and found out what 12a felt like the same day. I learned the importance of several spotters and multiple pads at Stone Fort. I have learned many more lessons from Rumbling Bald to Tallassee. I climbed Misty at Sandrock pulling off my first 10. I have traveled all over the world and I have to say that there is and will always be a place in my heart for the sandstone in the southeast.

Star and I are heading to Chatty on Wednesday through the 4Th. Sunset, Fosters, and DWS are in the future. Planning on meeting up with several friends along the way, including a close friend Bruce who is flying in from Houston. I am rigging a couple of ropes to take photos from the top for a better perspective. I hope to take lots of video too. After this trip we are off to the north west for some granite pulling. I am planning on hiking into the Stuart Range in the Cascades for some fun alpine adventuring. Star and her parents might come with some friends from the Alpine Institute. So we will see. I will be wearing my Snake River Pants the entire time. I hate to take them off!!!

Anyway, on the home front Star is 23 weeks prego and feeling great. I can not say how excited we are to welcome the little mountain sprout into our lives in Nov.

There is talk of a gym being built in NOLA soon. Which is great for the climbing community here. There are six house walls now and a gym in the city is greatly needed.

The oil spill is depressing. I have been down there working on some of the boats as a medic for the clean up effort. But now for the past week have been trying to organize the house so the movers can pick up our three different shipments. Our house is a wreck. But we see the light at the end of the tunnel now.

So long for now and I will post pictures next week.

Go Climb Something!!!
